Just back from 5 days in London. We saw some great exhibitions, including Postmodernism at the V&A and the Grayson Perry exhibition at The British Museum. Grayson had given a lecture to the Friends of the Whitworth Art Gallery last November which was excellent. I particularly love the way he promotes skills and craft rather than just concentrating on the concept. I wonder what other Turner prizewinner would admit to being influenced by a patchwork quilt and then go on to make one of his own!! Here I am with him before the lecture.
We also saw some great theatre, the highlight of which was ‘Jerusalem’. Get to see it if you can. Added to all this was dinner with friends. A great way to start the year.
