I was given a commission recently to do a painting in watercolour of anemones. It was for two sisters who have bought several of my paintings over the years and wanted it as a gift for an old friend.
I’m not usually keen on doing commissions, it is such a responsibility, but on this occasion, I said “yes”! Apparently their mother used to give this friend a bunch of anemones each year on her birthday and as this year was her 80th the two sisters wanted to give her a painting as a momento.
I was pleased with the painting and decided to have it printed as a greeting card.
I’m having a break from painting for a couple of days but have a few new pastels which I must get framed in the New Year.
