August has been a month of extremes. The temperature was in the 30’s at times, even in Manchester. I used to be a sun worshiper but not any more. However, it did mean I could spend more time indoors painting and drawing and this is one of the pastels I produced.
Another unexpected event was that our old friend John Steele died. It was a huge shock and is still difficult to comprehend.
There’s nothing like producing art to take your mind of things and as I have three exhibitions coming up, I had an incentive.
This pastel called ‘Mountain Stream’ will be on show in the Sedbergh Art Society exhibition which takes place every year over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
