I painted this during Lockdown. The Green Door Art Society, in Cumbria, set the theme of ‘My favourite things’ and I did a series of paintings of different pots, ethnic material and plants of mine placed on windowsills in my studio. There are three windows in my studio, which is an old mill building and they give a wonderful backdrop, with trees being framed in each of the window panes.
I really enjoyed doing these paintings but I only came upon this one recently as I’d put it in a drawer!! Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph it before framing and I can never manage to take a good photo once its in the frame. So, it looks rather wonky and light is reflected in the glass but I thought it was still worth showing.
